Dental Photography (Oral Photography)
You see what your dentist sees!
We have found patients feel more connected to their oral health after actually seeing what’s inside their own mouths. Using fiber-optic intraoral cameras our doctors even take step-by-step photos of all procedures.
This state-of-the-art technology allows Manhattan Dentists, PC to record valuable color, size, and shape information!
Digital X-Rays (Digital Radiographs)
Radiographs, or X-rays, are pictures of the teeth and the bones and soft tissues around them. X-rays can aid your dentist in identifying cavities, periodontal disease or bone loss around teeth, presence of infection, hidden structures and/or pathologies/diseases, and much more.
A complete set of x-rays (full-mouth series) is usually completed during your initial visit alongside a comprehensive exam. Bitewing X-rays are used during checkups to look for changes, such as tooth decay.
Our office uses digital x-ray technology!
- Advances in dental technology have made routine x-rays very safe. Digital X-rays produce 80% less radiation than traditional film x-rays making them even safer!
- The size of digital X-rays make them much more comfortable than traditional films.
- Digital films are scanned to our computer system. We are able to magnify the images and compare them to stored images to detect even the slightest changes in the health of your teeth.
- Digital X-rays are eco-friendly and eliminate unnecessary paper and chemical waste!
The most common dental x-rays are colloquially called by the following names: Bitewings, periapicals, occlusals, and panoramic xray. Your dentist will discuss with you which ones are needed.
