Porcelain Onlays and Inlays (Indirect Porcelain Restorations)
Onlays and Inlays are dental restorations used to conservatively strengthen teeth.
Both onlays and inlays can be made out of porcelain or metals. These restorations are fabricated and cemented in a method similar to dental crowns. (See Dental Crowns for details)
Both onlays and inlays can be used in circumstances when a dental crown is not necessarily needed and when a dental filling provides insufficient strength.
